Description
Next Generation in High-end Scanners
Don’t be fooled by the sleek design. This is one of the most powerful high-end CCD scanner on the market today. Flextight 848 offers higher resolution, higher speed, true 16 bit color, batch scanning, auto focus and a lot more.
The Flextight Holder
With the Special Flextight Holders and Virtual Drum system, The Flextight 848 is able to keep the original in perfect focus across the scan line by bending the original around a virtual drum, while avoiding Newton rings and minimizes the number of surfaces in the light path resulting in cleaner scans. The holder concept makes it possible to take the holder from the scanner, after preview, and place it on a light table for comparing and adjusting the scanner preview. When finished the holder is easily put into the scanner for final scanning. This feature is not available on most of the competitive scanners.
Clean Up Your Images
The diffuse light source of the Imacon Flextight 848 has a significant impact on reducing the visibility of dust and scratches, and masks almost all artifacts in a normal image and most of the artifacts that you see in a damaged original – without sacrificing the image sharpness.
Keep Heat Down
Every time the temperature raises 10° Celsius, the electrical noise in the sensor doubles. This means that it is very important to prevent the sensor from heating up. The Imacon Fextight 848 has an external Power Supply and uses a cold cathode type light source to minimize the heat build-up. In addition, at the top of the line scanner, Imacon has included an active cooling device, to further reduce the heating of the image sensor and increase the signal to noise ratio.
Creating the Versatile Image File
It has become much more important the same file can be repurposed for any media. Whether the file is used for the web or it is to be printed using high quality offset printing, it is imperative that it look it’s best. The only way to achieve the highest quality output is to start out with the best of the best quality “Raw” scan.
Efficient Workflow
It makes a lot of sense to create a workflow which suits the requirements of the industry today, and does not forget the demands of tomorrow. FlexColor is the tool able to handle this workflow. FlexColor has dual functionality, as it is used for scanning and also to prepare files for future reuse.
